Overview

Due to the natural sweetness of the bananas, the hemp banana bread does not need any added sugar. Depending on the sweetness of the bananas, you can add a little coconut blossom sugar or cane sugar to the mixture. The original recipe for hemp banana bread is vegetarian and not gluten-free.

Our crispy version also contains hemp crunchies. The crunchies remain crunchy even after baking and thus provide a special taste experience.

Ingredients for hemp banana bread

  • 4 pcs ripe bananas (the riper the better)
  • 300 g spelt flour
  • 50 g Organic Hemp Protein Premium
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 package baking powder
  • 50 g Organic hulled hemp seeds
  • 50 g Organic Hemp Crunchies
  • 100 ml milk or milk substitute
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil or rapeseed oil (no heat-sensitive oil such as linseed oil or hemp oil)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil or butter for brushing the loaf tin

Time commitment:

50 minutes total time.

Of this, 40 minutes is baking time and 10 minutes preparation time.

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 175° C.
  2. Mash the bananas in a bowl.
  3. Then add all the ingredients and mix together.
  4. Grease the loaf tin and pour in the dough.
  5. Then bake for 30-40 minutes at top/bottom heat.

For the vegan version, you can also omit the egg and use a milk alternative, for example hemp milk.
